Grandma's Chicken & Noodles

Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

This is my grandma's recipe, and I only just started making it a few years ago when I went to Missouri for a visit. It's a comforting and warm dish, and very easy to make. I prefer eating it with mashed potatoes, but it’s equally delicious on its own.

Ingredients

  • 1 can cooked chicken (or leftover cooked chicken, cut into pieces)
  • 1 package wide egg noodles
  • 1 10.75 oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can of milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot over high heat. When the water is boiling, add the egg noodles and cook till pasta is tender, about 10 minutes.
  2. Drain the pasta and return to the pot. Add in the cooked chicken pieces to the pasta, as well as the cream of chicken soup. Fill the chicken soup can with milk and add that to the mixture. Stir together, combining all the ingredients. Warm over low heat.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve over mashed potatoes or rice, or just eat on its own.
