I haven’t been knitting for a while and recently I began to knit again. I went camping one weekend and needed something to keep me busy around the campfire. So I took along a scarf project I had started a while back that I needed to finish. Well, that started a whole slew of projects. The knit pattern I was using created a crosshatch pattern that I’ve grown very fond of. I wanted to see how it would look in hat form, so I made a hat. The hat ended up being too small so I had to make another one, which is still a bit tight but wearable. Then I wanted to make a new scarf with the same pattern using different yarn and making it a skinny scarf. I’m still working on this one, and I plan on making a hat to match this as well.

It seems that I go through phases when I start getting involved in the projects I do. For a while I’ll do genealogy, then knititng, then writing, and then some photography. But never really all at the same time. And I hardly ever finish the project I’m working on totally, so I will have to return to it after I get involved in other projects. It’s really getting to annoy me. And I want to work on so many projects at once, yet there isn’t time to do it all. I finally got the house straightened out enough so I’m not constantly cleaning for hours on end.

I’ve had some knitting projects on needles for over 3 years now. I really want to work on them but it’s just so time consuming, especially for intricate patterns. I wish I had a month to do nothing but knit and finish up all my projects.
